Effective September 15, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Beardstyles.app ("we," "us") handles information in connection with this website.
We collect limited information automatically when you visit, such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site, typically through analytics tools. If you email us, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message.
The Try-On Studio generates a photorealistic AI preview of a beard style on your photo. To do that, the photo you upload is sent to our server. The server then, in order:
omni-moderation-latest or SeeAPI's NSFW Filter, depending
on configuration. The moderation service processes the content to
produce a result and then discards it under its own retention policy.
The SeeAPI filter only accepts image URLs, so when it is active your
photo is briefly copied to a private storage bucket and shared with
SeeAPI via a short-lived signed link (expiring within 10 minutes);
the copy is deleted immediately after the check.We use your photo solely to generate the preview you requested — we don't use it to train models, and we don't store it beyond what's needed to serve that single request back to you. The third-party providers' own handling of the image while generating the result is governed by their terms, which we review before integrating any provider. Don't upload a photo of anyone who hasn't agreed to have their photo used this way, and don't upload anything that violates our Acceptable Use Policy.
Credit purchases are processed by PayPal, on the operator's PayPal account, using PayPal's checkout. When you click a pricing tier, PayPal opens its own payment window where the payment happens; the amount is always the price shown on that tier at the time of purchase. PayPal confirms the result to us directly, which is how credits are added to your account — usually within seconds, with no further action needed from you.
From that confirmation we store the PayPal order reference, the PayPal capture reference, the amount, and the email address on the PayPal account, so the purchase can be matched against the PayPal record and shown in your order history. We do not receive or store any payment-card details — those stay with PayPal. PayPal's handling of the payment itself is governed by PayPal's own privacy policy.
The PayPal flow may involve data crossing the PayPal.cn / PayPal.com boundary (the merchant account is administered from the PayPal.cn portal but payments are processed on PayPal.com). Your purchase information is exchanged with PayPal.com servers during payment processing — this exchange is part of how PayPal itself operates the merchant account, not something the Site controls. Once payment is captured, funds are settled from the merchant's PayPal balance to the merchant's linked bank account through PayPal's automatic withdrawal (typically 3–5 business days); the Site does not receive any bank-account details from either party.
Where applicable law requires it (including GDPR for EEA/UK visitors), we rely on consent for non-essential cookies and analytics, and legitimate interest for basic site operation. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@beardstyles.app with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
Analytics data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above, consistent with our analytics provider's retention settings. Emails are retained as long as needed to resolve the inquiry and for reasonable record-keeping afterward.
We may use third-party analytics and advertising providers. These providers process data under their own privacy policies; we encourage you to review those where relevant.
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
