Acceptable Use Policy

Effective September 15, 2026. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to your use of Beardstyles.app (the "Site"), including the AI Try-On Studio. It supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Site you agree to this AUP.

The short version

Beardstyles.app is a beard-style preview tool. The AI Try-On Studio generates a beard-style preview on a photo you upload. It is a preview, not a toy, not a meme generator, and not a deepfake tool.

The following are not allowed:

• Nudity or sexually explicit content — in photos you submit, in the prompts you use (where the Site accepts user input), or in the previews the AI generates.
• Violence, gore, or content depicting harm to people or animals.
• Hate speech, harassment, or content that targets a person or group based on a protected characteristic.
• Depictions of real, identifiable people without their consent.
• Photos of minors (anyone under 18, or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).
• Content that infringes intellectual property rights, including photos you don't have the right to use.
• Attempts to bypass, probe, or otherwise interfere with the content-moderation gate that protects the Site.
• Automated bulk use, scraping, or any use that interferes with the Site or its third-party providers.
• Anything illegal where you live or where the Site is operated.

How the AI Try-On Studio enforces this

Before any AI provider is called, every uploaded photo and the prompt built for the generation is sent through OpenAI's omni-moderation-latest moderation model. The moderation result (pass or fail, plus any categories that flagged) is recorded in an internal audit log. We fail closed: if moderation flags the content or if the moderation service is temporarily unavailable, the generation is rejected and you see a polite explanation rather than a result.

This is a reasonable-effort safety system, not a guarantee. It is designed to catch the obvious cases (nudity, graphic violence, common slurs) and to deter abuse. Determined bad actors may find ways around it; if you find one, please report it to hello@beardstyles.app so we can improve it.

About the photos you upload

The Try-On Studio is designed for photos of yourself. It is not a face-swap or deepfake tool: the underlying model preserves identity rather than swapping it. Even so:

• Don't upload photos of anyone who hasn't agreed to have their photo used this way. If you upload a photo of someone else, you are responsible for getting their consent.
• Don't upload photos of minors.
• Don't upload copyrighted photos you don't have the right to use (e.g. screenshots from a movie, professional headshots without permission).

About prompts

The Try-On Studio's text prompts are generated entirely by the Site based on the style and color you select. There is no free-form text input today. If user-supplied text input is ever added in the future, it will be subject to the same moderation gate as photos.

What we do if you break the rules

If your use of the Site violates this AUP, we may, in our reasonable discretion:

• Refuse the specific request (e.g. the AI generation).
• Suspend or terminate your access to the Site.
• Forfeit any unused purchased credits, where the credit was used to attempt the prohibited use.
• Where required, report the activity to the relevant authorities.

We aim to be proportionate. A one-off accidental upload of an inappropriate photo will typically be met with a polite refusal, not a ban.

Reporting

If you see content on the Site that violates this AUP, or if you believe the moderation system failed (allowed something it shouldn't have, or blocked something it shouldn't have), email hello@beardstyles.app with "AUP Report" in the subject line.

Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
